The oldest

Once we arrive at the age of 60 years and more, many of us should consider retiring or taking things easy and at a slower pace, but for an individual he thought to do the opposite.

The oldest person to reach the Summit of Mount Everest record belongs to Min Bahadur Sherchan, who comes from the Nepal.

He was the great age of 76 years and 340 days when he reached the Summit of the world on May 25, 2008. He made his rise through the South Col on the mountain to the Nepal.

Min Bahadur Sherchan was born in Bhurung Tatopani in the Nepal Western Myagdi district, on June 20, 1931. The former soldier has always been a very active sportsman and had climbed many small mountains before rising on Mount Everest. In 1960, he had his vest on being the first to climb Dhaulagiri (8, 167 m) but unfortunately another team succeeded just before making his attempt.

It was in 2002 when Min Bahadur Sherchan was old that he had decided to be the oldest person to climb Mount Everest and set record by other mountaineers of 70 years. He began his training for this enormous rise in the age of 72. Min Bahadur Sherchan was a soldier, he had no special training for mountaineering, living among the mountains of the Nepal he came used in mountaineering. For part of his training, he reached the Summit of Mount Naya-Khanga peak (5,844 metres) on September 11, 2006.

Many people think that Min Bahadur Sherchan would never reach the Summit of Mount Everest and also, many thought that it would be to put those up with him to risk on what is already a dangerous climb.

The previous record for the person the oldest stand standing on the Summit of Mount Everest was held by Katsusuke Yanagisawa of the Japan. He was 71 years 2 months and 2 days when it reached the top of the world on May 22, 2007.
